Tracked machinery behaves differently on a platform than wheeled machinery: it has its own lashing points and its own weight distribution. That is why the lashing plan is prepared before loading rather than improvised on the spot.

A low-bed platform keeps the load within the height limit. Without it, a machine of this class would need separate approvals on almost every section of the route.
